This is a perfect salmon pool and a natural holding pool for River Tay salmon. This is the Glide Pool on the Dalmarnock salmon beat near Dunkeld in May. This shot of the Tay could almost be a picture postcard!
Here's the perfect Autumn riverbanks on the Banchory Beat's Jock Adams Pool in perfect Autumnal light conditions. The beautiful Banchory Lodge Hotel is only a few hundred yards downstream of where this fine River Dee photograph was taken from.
This is the Glide Pool on the Dalmarnock Beat of the River Tay. This salmon fisher is out concentrating his fishing effort on the deep run that's located between his position and the riverbank opposite him. The area where the tree is located is an excellent area for hooking salmon.
This is the perfect Gauge Tree salmon pool on the Dunkeld House Beat of the River Tay. This is a great salmon lie as running fish nose in here for a breather after pushing up through the fast water under the Dunkeld Telford Bridge in the distance.
This is my most favourite River Tay salmon fishing hot spot near the mouth of the River Tummel 10 miles north of Dunkeld during some exciting light conditions in June. Check out the perfectly cut riverbank in the foreground which I just love to cut to make this pool look its very best.
