Here's a picture postcard shot looking down onto the tail of The Trap Pool and onto the Cottar Pool on the Newtyle salmon beat of the River Tay. The dark glassy water at the tail of The Trap is indeed a serious salmon fishing hot spot.
Here's a perfectly lit upstream shot looking into the productive 'Killing Hatch Pool' on the Invery & Tilquhillie salmon fishing beat near Banchory. Look at the lovely shimmer coming off the the top layer of water of the River Dee in this photograph.
Welcome to the Tulchan Estate which owns 4 fabulous River Spey salmon fly fishing beats near Grantown. There's Scottish salmon fishing and then there's Tulchan which is my best way of describing this amazing fishery. The Spey is beautiful and fast flowing as you can see here in this photograph.
Perfect Summer fly fishing water conditions is what you can see in this photograph of the River Tweed near Galashiels. If you had to draw the perfect salmon pool and gravel riverbank this would be it on the Upper Dryburgh salmon beat.
The Scottish salmon rivers open each year as early as 15th January and close as late as 30th November. This is a perfect upstream shot of the Ash Tree Pool neck near Dunkeld which was taken from the left hand bank of the river.
Look at the lovely traditional Brady fishing bag, McLean landing net, Van Staal Fly reel and Bruce & Walker fly rod perfectly propped up beside some purple heather on the River Tay near the Perthshire village of Murthly. This must be an expert who owns and uses kit like this!
