Jock's involvement with Scottish salmon fishing spans back to 1970 when he landed his first salmon at the age of five on the River Tay under the guidance of 'legendary' Tay ghillie the late Willie Laird (1912-1991).

Jock has also achieved success in various other initiatives in the sport including playing the pioneering & private fundraising role for Europe's largest ever river habitat survey on the River Tay which successfully evaluated over 1000 miles of the Tay's headwaters via the Tay Western Catchment Project (see below).

Jock has been the guided salmon fishing service provider to many famous Scottish hotels over the last decade including the Gleneagles Hotel, Fonab Castle, Dunkeld House Hotel and the Kinloch House Hotel due to his professional operational standards.
